POSITION PURPOSE: This mission centered position is responsible for assisting in the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing HR support of the organization's workforce. This includes payroll processing and wellness program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position's duties may include any or all of the following: Global Responsible for the security, integrity, and accuracy of all personnel records and transactions, and system entries. Maintains personnel files and records as prescribed by law or industry standard. Works with HR Manager to ensure that the HR system (i.e., Kronos and Halogen) is working properly at all times and contains no duplication of information. Payroll Ensures all proper deductions are taken out of each employee paycheck, including proper benefit amounts, garnishments, and other mandatory deductions. Reviews time entries in Kronos and processes payroll Ensures accuracy of PTO and appropriate payout Process and submit to accounting payroll and benefit reports. Calculates and records Part Time Technician hours for retirement purposes. Processes Flexible Spending Account paperwork and reports deductions to provider. General HR Responsible for assisting managers in recruitment including advertising, resume review, and interviewing. Responsible for performing reference and background checks on all final candidates. Assists with employee orientation, development, and training. Assists HR manager with compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping. Responsible for organization and management of company wellness program. Responsible for coordination of branch wellness champion program. Initiates or completes forms and related HR paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, such as new hire, change of benefits, discipline, termination, retirement forms. Prepares, updates, and/or revises HR forms and information packets as necessary. EDUCATION: High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been acquired is required. College coursework in human resources is a plus. Continual training and certification as necessary QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE: A minimum two (2) years relevant HR experience required. Nonprofit experience is preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Access, general database, and web-based applications Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and phone communication skills required. Ability to work independently, with limited direction, and in a team environment. Ability to work with distraction and to multi-task with frequent interruptions. Must be able to deal with HR matters in a confidential, objective, professional manner. Must maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined by organization. Must have reliable transportation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel throughout service region as required. Requires occasional out of town stays. Driving for extended periods or long distances may be required. Frequent periods of intense concentration, attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle mental and physical strain involved in use of printed materials and prolonged use of computer screens. Moderate manual dexterity for basic keyboarding and operation of required equipment. Long periods of sitting and/or standing may be required. Ability to lift and move 20 pounds is required.
